Orphaned creamer and sugar set

items purchased for recycling/use in flatware project

This sterling silver creamer and sugar were purchased as scrap metal on a popular internet based auction site. Selection process for these pieces was mostly by price, but also somewhat for their interest as original objects to be memorialized, recycled and forged into flatware.

The memorial artwork is a medium format photograph, shot on black and white negative film, in my studio on a Mamiya RZ67, negative was drum scanned and output on Hahnemühle Bamboo Fine Art Paper, 16x13 inches in an edition of 3 with one artist proof.

Flatware produced is a set of three soup or serving spoons. The finished spoons are presented and displayed in a felt component that can act as a holder or used to display the spoons.
